How will the independent physicians at CCH be impacted by CCH joining the Penn Medicine organization?

Mike Duncan
CEO, Chester County Hospitals

Chester County Hospital (CCH) is a predominantly a private practice hospital. As in the past, some independently employed physicians will approach CCH about employment possibilities. We will go through a process to see if an arrangement would be beneficial for both parties. The process will be the same as in the past, but the options will increase as a result of being part of Penn Medicine.

In some sub-specialty areas, the Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania (CPUP) will be the proper vehicle for employment. In that case, CCH will work with the appropriate academic Chair and CPUP leaders to develop an employment arrangement. In other specialties, the proper employment vehicle may be Clinical Care Associates (CCA), Penn’s community physician organization, or existing CCH subsidiaries.
